A Double International Move: Canada and Kent to France

30th March, 2026

This move not only required planning to relocate all the family possessions from Ontario, Canada to France but there were also household items to be moved from a house and storage facility in Chatham, Kent, so effectively two moves from two different countries. Loving a logistical challenge, this international removal gave our Operations Team something to get their teeth into with their usual enthusiasm.

International Moving with Ease

After spending much of their life in rentals and enduring 12 moves in 19 years, our clients, a couple, chose a complicated move for their next destination. Despite the complexities their end goal of finding their forever home in France was a compelling driving force. After a full working life, what’s not to love about retiring to a better lifestyle, slower pace of life, good food and wine and the ease of exploring France and Europe?

Actually achieving this would seem a daunting task to the most robust of us but with GB Liners’ experience in international and European removals the organisational worries were lifted. In the customer’s own words pertaining to GB Liners.

“They have been more of a relocation assistant by handling the relocations from both countries, advising on all logistics and holding our hands through every step. It has been seamless and made all the usual concerns associated with a stressful move a non-issue. They have been a godsend. The best moving company we have used by far.”

Coordinating International Moves

For GB Liners, detailed coordination was needed with our trusted Canadian Agents who assisted with the move from Ontario to France. As you will see from the photos, expert export packing was required to ensure all the furniture and effects arrived at their destination intact. The same was true of the removal from Chatham to France conducted by GB Liners.

In the case of both moves, the varied but essential paperwork was processed and all the difficulties encompassed, with a removal from two different countries to a third country where you don’t speak the language, were taken from the customer’s hands so they could concentrate on planning their future life idyll.

GB Liners were happy to assist with this move and hope their retirement is everything they anticipated. If you’re looking to embark on a similar move, why not speak to our team?
